No. This increases the tension and makes the game all the more terrifying. There is also a little static that acts as a neat little visual clue for whenever Slenderman is coming near. You are unarmed and you have no way of defending yourself if Slenderman catches you. This game is scary because that's all it goes for. What makes this game so compelling is the atmosphere. As mentioned before, you are in a forest and you have to find eight notes that are scattered around the forest. The gameplay is where this game truly shines. With low end graphics and almost no plot, what makes tis game so special? All you know is that you're stuck in a forest, you have to find eight pages that gives you insight into Slenderman, and you have to avoid looking at Slenderman or you'll die. The environment is mostly the same: You're in a park that's filled with trees and you'll come across a few gates and bathrooms. They are very basic and can run on even some of the lower end gaming PCs. There isn't a whole lot to say when it comes to graphics of Slender: The Eight Pages. Is it truly that scary or is it just full of hot air? The game went on to become known as one of the scariest games in recent memory.
